From the very first mobile to 4G LTE, there has been a lot of changes in a few decades in the telecommunications industry. In fact, four generations or G’s have taken place quickly. Now, the fifth generation is poised to break and is promising 100 to 1000 times 4G LTE speed. It implies downloading a movie in full-length may take a few seconds. Importantly, 5G will be ultra-efficient devices internet-connected.

Sprint and Verizon networks

The next big thing is 5G promises faster speeds download 2x to 10x. This technology is rolling out across the world on carriers. It is a little wonder you require tracking. The Speedtest popular maker, Ookla offers a map of 5G coverage, providing a detailed look at 5G networks that are given place from a network and if the network coverage is available commercially or is limited.

Verizon and Sprint are over peak data speeds battle and about covering wider areas. AT&T has hotspots network but is not tested. On the other hand, England, Switzerland, and South Korea have launched 5G. Japan is out building towers and is fraught about Huawei providing the Russias largest operator the 5G equipment, while China is handing out licenses.

The 5G Race

The 5G race may mean nothing seriously until it is available on your phone live. However, it is of importance to countries and networks. 5G represents the economic growth, business future, and innovation. This is because it is about more data speeds and a lot more. The spectrum of 5G will include even self-driving cars doing the talking part on the road to the real-time gaming that will be crystal clear and digital surgery to video calls.

Using Ookla map to track 5G

 • Navigate from any browser to speedtest.net/ookla5gmap
 • Drag the map to know the country you are interested in.
 • Click the bubble to see the 5G covered areas and the network location.
 • Zoom the map using the + control and again click the bubble to get detailed information. If you find multiple cities with an active 5G network across a country from various networks, you will have to zoom in the map to find in the specific cities the specific locations.

5G network hounds may take to @Ookla5GMap Twitter account to track the map of 5g networks to get real-time updates.

Google is very busy with Google Maps updating. The latest feature is a speedometer on the Google map showing how much you are speeding. The speed is reported to you by Android police.

Why Google Speedometer?

Of course, there is a speedometer in your car, but it means you have to see it in a glance. It is double the work to check on the direction at the app on Google Map and you will have to dart your eyes forth on the road and back to the Map app. It means rolling eyes between the dashboard and app.

Google is rolling out in Maps the speedometer so that your eyes can see the app for both direction and speed. If you do not have it right now, be patient. Keep checking the settings of Maps app to know if you have received the latest speedometer on your map. In fact, the speed camera trap helps you to report a traffic jam or an incident.

Turn on Google’s latest features

For the speedometer

 • Open the app of Google Maps.
 • Tap on 3-stacked lines and roll down to your screen bottom.
 • Select settings
 • Click on Navigation settings
 • Scroll to the menu of the driving option and slide for Speedometer the toggle. If you are unable to see the feature, it means the new feature is not received by you.

Report -speed camera trap

 • Open Google Maps app
 • Type the destination and report in navigation mode the speed camera.
 • Hit the icon featuring a plus sign, the icon for the speech bubble.
 • Choose Mobile speed camera.
 • ‘Adding a mobile speed camera to map’ a pop-up message appears
 • You can cancel in a few seconds if you do not wish to report by tapping the circle to ‘Undo’.

Incognito mode Google Maps

Report an incident, a traffic jam or a car crash

 • Open Google maps app
 • Type the destination to begin navigating so that you get to report incidents. This is possible only if the mode is in navigation.
 • On the road, you see and wish to report, hit the icon with plus sing for the speech bubble.
 • Tap to ‘Add a report’.
 • Select ‘Crash/traffic jam’ on the message appearing on the map. Click on ‘Undo’ if you cancel sending it.

The 5G network is a massive breakthrough to change the devices ways of connecting the internet. 5G assures less latency, faster speeds and the ability to connect to the internet many devices. It is ideally better to handle users, heavy traffic and lots of sensors.

How 5G can change lives

 • It promotes smart cities by managing traffic and also by determining the streetlight quickly by connecting sensor networks.
 • The connections of high-speed enable remote surgery and also performing other surgeries by professional surgery. Thus lives can be saved in a situation when distance and time will be the reason to create a great difference between death and life.
 • 5G connects cars of self-driving and fuels in augmented and virtual new applications. The cars reacting and communicating to reaction means it will be an end to car accidents. It also means it will be an end to traffic. It also means the self-driving cars will reach destinations lightning fast and there will be no risk of hitting one another.
 • Robots can be staffed in factories to communicate task and to handle with efficiency over 5G networks wirelessly.
 • Home broadband without the need for cables is a big change. The 5G technology super-fast broadband can be available if you are working or living in areas that have fiber optic cable going beneath the road. Bringing in 5G technology means you can get rid of connecting physically to an office or a home through a cable going down the street and it will also make factories and huge plants cable-free.

Changes required in phones

5G mmWave means around the cities a lot of small boxes and not immense base stations. The housings will have to be all-new so that they do not affect or block the bandwidth.

5G relates to density and there will be fewer station towers featuring huge antennas. There will also be housings in the router-sized emitting the signals and more nano-cells.

There will be a need for the phone designs to change to have 5G signals enter unaffected. The phones having metal housings work for 4G as the antennas take less space and are on edges.

With 5G network means several antennas are required as they are large and to go from the back through a full-metal back is tough.

Faster mobile internet is the only 5G benefit though, it means less congested networks. When most people are downloading over 5G, the time taken is less than in 4G. It means a download of web page clogs the bandwidth network for lesser time and it refers to less congestion.

What is 5G?

The next mobile internet connectivity generation is 5G networks. It offers reliable connections, faster speeds on Smartphone and other devices.

The network technology here offers cutting-edge and also the latest research. The connection is multitudes faster in 5G. The networks are expected to power the internet technology, offering the choice to carry data in huge amounts, thereby ensuring a connected and smarter world.

5G has more lanes built than 4G and so the data usage in peak hour is handled better. Users can enjoy consistent service. With more people using 5G that is faster means it will benefit even the non-5G users as the network waiting will be even less.

Obvious benefits

Comprehending 5G so far, there are apparent benefits and especially for mobile gamers. Starters will notice the game downloads to be faster. Games such as Valkyrie and Injustice 2 require its gamers to wait for a Wi-Fi network to download the game. The download takes a long time even with 4G and your phone battery experiences havoc.

5G is all set to promote the data plans size as well. Right now 5G is coming in two packages as 30 GB a month and 60 GB a month. On the other hand, the 4G packages are yet ranging per month from 250MB to 50GB.

With 5G offering easily more data and speedy downloads indicates a 5G gamer will enjoy and appreciate the time spent in downloading as it does not make your battery sweat.

Many mobile games require today also an internet connection as in-game. This is required to track score, fleece gems, and for in-app purchases. In fact, in-game internet is required even to enter a battle royale arena so that the gamers compete with other mobile warriors. Thus, all these requirements mean historically long wait times with other networks.

Precisely, there are obvious 5G benefits and more speed means ‘no more waiting’. IN fact, streaming games with 5G is also equally fast.

Having a product or products for sale or even having something to say that you feel people will benefit from means you need a website. Of course, saying you want to have your own website and actually making one are two different things. Today we are sharing some essential tips for you guys to help you get your dream website up and running.

Know What Your Goal Is!

Before you even start thinking about what your website is going to look like, having a clear goal of what you are offering is essential. If you are building a website to sell things, give advice or even serve as a portal for people to buy products from other sites.

Having a clear goal of what your website is about from the moment it launches (actually before it) is something you simply must have. Websites that launch without a clear strategy and goal of what they want always… ALWAYS end up wasting time, money and finding their place on the internet.

building a website

You Need To Start It

No doubt eventually you will have to hire a freelancer here or there or someone who has experience with web design. However, in the beginning, the message, tone, and style have to come from you. After all, this is your baby and you know better than anyone what message you want to get out there.

By all means, get someone to proofread it or even edit it for you. However, the initial message of your site has to be from your head and heart.

Get To The Point!

While having a lot of content on your site can be great for Google rankings and so on. You want your initial message to be as straight to the point as possible. When you go to a new site and it has just a massive wall of text for you to read do you ever read it all?

That is why you need to explain what you are about, offering and doing in as straight to the point message as possible. Feel free to have a more in-depth section somewhere on the site. However, building a website should have a clear message as one of the first things a potential new client will see.

Let Potential Customers Know What You Can Do

While having a clear message is very important for a brand-new website. One thing that many people forget to do is actually inform new customers of what you can do for them. It is one thing to have a list of all the amazing services or products that you offer.

However, you need to think about it from a customer point of view. Let the customer know what you are going to do for them and how it is going to make their life easier, be a good deal and in general be a pleasant and easy experience for them.

building a website

Do Your Homework

It goes without saying that before you start building a website you need to look around and find ones that you like. Look at websites that you feel offer kind of a similar thing to you and see what you like and what you do not like.

Do not just “rip them off” instead take what they do and put your own spin on it. At the same time as this is your own website, you can ignore the things that other sites do which you feel do not work.

Google Fi is a new project from the search giant and it’s basically an MVNO. In layman terms, this is basically a mobile virtual network operator. The idea is that this is an entity which offers you wireless service. The cool thing about Google Fi is that since it’s basically a phone carrier, it brings you mobile data service on all the major mobile networks in the US.

The phone can switch between those networks and you can also use Wi-Fi to make calls and also send texts as fast as possible. What makes Google Fi nice is that it has a true focus on a simpler billing system, and that’s always extremely important to have. The trick with it is that you are paying $20 every month so you can get unlimited texting and talking, and there’s also a flat rate of $10 for every GB of data you use. If you use more than 6GB, you will have an unlimited plan tier and that will help you save a lot of money.

What’s nice is that you never have to focus on buying an unlimited plan. You just get the regular plan, pay based on how much data you use and you are good to go. Google Fi does an amazing job at helping you scale up the service only when you need it. And in order to protect yourself from too many extra charges, they decided to create a very powerful and distinct system that actually helps you get all the value and support you may need.

If you want you can also go with a Group Plan that allows you to share a single account and billing source for up to 6 people. This is a very interesting option just because it helps you spend less. However, there can be data limitations for every user, and that’s always a nice thing to have.

How does it work?

Google Fi uses a special SIM card that will authenticate you on the carrier. And then it will switch between the carriers on the fly. Aside from that, Google Fi will also try to use Wi-Fi whenever it can. You will notice that as you move in the city, the phone will have a Wi-Fi assistant tool that will be constantly looking for new networks that you can use. This is quite an interesting approach and one that has the potential to bring you rewarding results in the long run.

Google Fi

Lastly, the great thing about Google Fi is that whenever you are connected to a Wi-Fi source, they will route you via a VPN for your personal safety. You won’t have to worry about any changes or doing anything. It’s just Google doing its best to keep you safe and protected no matter what happens. So yes, Google Fi uses a very interesting and downright revolutionary system that has the potential to change the way we think about networking. Is it the gamechanger? That’s hard to say, but a lot of people do expect that from it. Whether it will indeed happen or not, we will just have to wait and see.

Top Web Browsers 2018 https://www.techandsoft.com/internet/top-web-browsers-2018/ https://www.techandsoft.com/internet/top-web-browsers-2018/#disqus_thread Sun, 28 Apr 2019 17:17:23 +0000 https://www.techandsoft.com/?p=8068 We all want to be safe and secure online, and every time we find new, creative tools that we can use to make the entire process as fast and as convenient as possible. 2018 did bring quite an interesting shift […]

We all want to be safe and secure online, and every time we find new, creative tools that we can use to make the entire process as fast and as convenient as possible. 2018 did bring quite an interesting shift in the case of many browsers. Many of them improved exponentially, brought in lots of bug fixes and other great stuff, so you have to wonder, which are the best web browsers for 2018?

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox got a complete overhaul, it came with a new version and engine named Quantum and that on its own is extremely interesting. The speeds are comparable to Chrome and now you can finally rest assured your memory doesn’t run out when you use too many tabs.

They also brought in new features related to privacy, since they have support for password free logins and you also have automatic ad tracker blocking. Since privacy is very important online, this is a crucial feature to have.

Google Chrome

Google Chrome

Google Chrome did improve its stability and security, as always. It still is the best when it comes to web browsers, however it still eats up a whole lot of system resources. That being said, you got even more extensions and they did push HTTPS quite a lot in 2018. That’s great, because it encourages website owners to bring in a better security to their customers, and that’s a major aspect that every user needs to focus on at this time. They also have password free login support and VR support, just like Firefox brought in 2018 as well.

Opera

Opera

Opera might not have a massive market share, however the great thing about it is that it has a turbo feature that helps you compress the web traffic which enhances the browsing speed. It also helps you use a VPN if necessary, which is great. It will duck out of the way if you want to use secure sites and it will offer you adjacent, professional support when that happens. Yes, they even have alerts when it comes to stuff like that. And they added an ad-blocker too.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge is not browser compatible and it started to get better speeds. The downside with Edge is that it’s not exactly supported very well by many sites, and sometimes the user experience can be a bit hard. However, it uses the latest and greatest technologies. Not a lot happened with it during 2018, but it still remains one of the better options if you decide to use it.

As you can see, there are lots of great browsers to check out right now. If you want to stay secure online, all of them are pretty good, although if you use lots of tabs and visit many sites at the same time you will need plenty of RAM. Don’t hesitate and check out all these great browsers and see which one works for you. It might be a great experience as you test all of them to find the right match!

Long-term Servicing Branch (LTSB) Windows 10 https://www.techandsoft.com/software/long-term-servicing-branch-ltsb-windows-10/ https://www.techandsoft.com/software/long-term-servicing-branch-ltsb-windows-10/#disqus_thread Fri, 26 Apr 2019 20:56:28 +0000 https://www.techandsoft.com/?p=7988 The Long-term Servicing Branch is a very distinct brand of Windows 10. ]]>
The Long-term Servicing Branch is a very distinct brand of Windows 10. Unlike the Insider Preview version, the LTSB branch is designed with the idea that it will offer only important updates for enterprise users. Let’s face it, medical equipment, ATMs and PCs that control machines in a factory don’t really need the utmost features. Instead these need security and stability, nothing more than that. Sure, some extra features are great, but security and also some stability are the main concerns here.

That’s the reason why the Long-term Servicing Branch is suitable only for the Enterprise version of Windows 10. You will receive bugfixes as well as security updates for your Long-term Servicing Branch, but nothing more than that.

Plus, the interesting thing is that even if Microsoft offers a LTSB version with new features, you will have to reinstall. That’s because the LTSB branch isn’t automatically updated. This is a bit of a bummer for people that want to use this version often. But on the other hand you can understand why some people find it incredibly important and helpful.

Usually Microsoft releases a new major LTSB version every 2-3 years, depending on the situation. If you don’t want to use a particular version and you just want to skip it, then you can totally do that. Every version has stability and security updates for 10 years. As we mentioned, this is only valid if you are a Windows 10 Enterprise user that opts for the Long-term Servicing Branch.

Why should companies use the Long-term Servicing Branch? Because this version is designed to work a lot better and faster. Unlike the regular Win 10 versions, this one doesn’t have Edge, Cortana and the Store or any other extra apps like Weather, OneNote, News or Clock. The idea here is to eliminate all the extra stuff that companies don’t need. Instead, the true focus here is on offering the best and fastest user experience that people can get and to bring that to the next level all the time.

LTSB Windows 10

While you will lack some features, you will more than make up for that with performance and stability. Even if small features might not seem like much, they all drain system resources. The Long-term Servicing Branch version is all about allowing you to squeeze all the computing power you want. Enterprise users need this all the time, so having the ability to do that is very impressive.

However, you can’t use this on a regular PC. You will only be able to use the Long-term Servicing Branch on the rare, mission critical devices. It’s hard to access this version too, you will need to show that you are indeed a company and you really need access to this kind of operating system. Otherwise you will not be able to get it. And it makes sense, because regular PC users need more features and certain updates that enterprise users do not. Whether the Long-term Servicing Branch updates will be regular or not, that’s hard to say, but it might very well be a great experience either way!

The times of having to tune in live or purchasing costly disks so as to watch your most loved motion pictures and TV shows and motion pictures are no more. They have been gone for quite a long while now, especially with the advancement of technology and the introduction of streaming platforms to the world. YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Instant Video, Hulu, and so much more.

The rise of these streaming sites also creates a lot of confusion. Which one’s the best? Which one should you spend your money on? You will find out in this article. Let’s have a rundown of each platform and see what they have to offer individually.

NETFLIX:

According to Tom’s Guide, Netflix can be considered the “great-granddaddy” when it comes to streaming services and platforms, and this is not without reason. As of 2018, the service has more than 137 million streaming subscribers all over the world.

Netflix not only gives access to endless movies, TV shows, stand-up comedy specials, documentary series and even originals such as Sense8 and House of Cards, but now they even get to download most of these shows for offline streaming. One monthly subscription fee starts from $11.

Netflix is extremely consistent with quality, performance and selection. Users are given the opportunity to make up to five profiles, which ensures that their content does not get mixed with loved ones’. It has a great recommendation framework and brilliant UI/UX.

AMAZON INSTANT VIDEO:

Starting from $8.99 every month, Amazon Prime Video is considered one of the top three streaming services as of last year, second only to Netflix.

The most noticeable aspect of Amazon Video is that it has a remarkable selection of comedy and an even better selection for children, as compared to its rivals. This is because of Amazon’s contract with Viacom – which also gives access to some programs from Nickelodeon, MTV and Comedy Central.

Amazon’s video streaming service not only has a lot for kids, but lets users go back to days of HBO as it gives them endless access to a never-ending collection, including classics like The Wire and even The Sopranos.

One con of this service is that it rarely ever gets new movies and shows but still has great originals. Another sad thing is that a la carte content costs more.

HULU:

Hulu is a lifesaver for those individuals who want to keep up with the latest films and shows, but don’t have the desire to pay for a cable subscription or even an HD antenna.

Except for CBS’ programs, Hulu lets users access shows from most major networks, just for $8 per month. Yes, of all three most popular streaming services, Hulu is the least expensive. It even offers access to amazing original programs and a bunch of cable shows the next day after airing.

What you might not like about Hulu is that despite paying for it, you will still have to endure frequent commercials. You might also find the interface a little cumbersome. The good thing is that you get access to a number of classic anime series.

Make your choice now!

Introduction

In 2017, YouTube announced that it will discontinue its engine of annotation and replace it with End Screen and Cards. These two new editions are mobile-first tools that offer many of the same features as annotations that link them to polling and video viewers.

According to YouTube, this change was implemented because annotations didn’t comply effectively with mobile and most users considered it as obnoxious. The change was experienced after 2nd March and existing annotations will only show up to the users using the desktop browser version of YouTube.

Are Annotations Outdated in a Mobile World?

YouTube annotations have become completely outdated in today’s world. The small text boxes were provided for creators to link to other comments, add ancillary information like footnotes and link to other videos. However, the research by Salem has revealed that the usage of annotation has ultimately decreased over the years by 70%. Indeed, many viewers only use annotations to avoid the boxes that interrupt their video screen whereas some users turn them off. So, basically now YouTube is investing more and more in End Screens and Cards, so creators can easily use them.
