Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Developed by Respawn Entertainment, this single player adventurous game is in line to release for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 15^th of November 2019. The plot of the game is set after some years of its previous installment.

Gears 5

The gaming industry is flooded with shooting games and Gears 5 is also a shooting game which is being created by The Coalition. This game is supported by Windows PC and the date finalized for the release of the game is 10 September 2019. Gamers can enjoy this game in either single or multiplayer mode.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall

Planetfall is published under Paradox Interactive and is developed by the Triumph Studios. Age of Wonders is also a series and Planetfall is its fifth installment. Gamers can download this game on their Windows PC and can start playing from 6^th of August 2019.

FIFA 20

Eden Hazard under Real Madrid’s t-shirt. That’s FIFA 20logo. The game will surely add some new players because of these combinations on their logo. This multi-player football game is set to release on 27^th September 2019 for Microsoft Windows PC’Sand is developed by EA Sports.

Phoenix Point

An awaiting strategic video game which is developed by Snapshot Games, an independent developer from Bulgaria and the release of the game is set sometime in December 2019 for various platforms like Mac Operating systems, Xbox One, and Epic Game Store. This game is ahead of the present time and is staged an invasion from the aliens.

Playing PC games was all about wasting your time as far as your parents were concerned but it’s not the scenario these days, and this is evident by the fact that a teenager boy from Pennsylvania took away $2.4 million cash for winning the world cup of Fortnite.

This is a speedrun test reaching 100% on a loading bar. The loading bars must be coped with speed-up and slow-down mats, giant bouncers and crosses. There are points to restart as a support and to collect gold stars, but here everything takes place anti-clockwise. This is an interesting iPhone game featuring a clever level design, responsive tilt controls, and arty visuals.

There are many arcade games for free on iPhone and this includes auto-runners, pinball, retro classics, party games, brawlers and fighting games.

This game is a twitch-based arcade. Here you are a cat trying to get a crown but are in a box. Luckily the cat box is boosted each time you tap and it is rocket-powered. However, there are many things between the cat that is you and the crown.

There may be swinging axes, massive laser beams or you may be chased by critters or blown by fans. It is fun to figure out the way to beat the test and to acquire high scores. The background visuals and music are good enough and the basic nature of the game does not last for an age. Give a boost quickly for yourself.

Williams Pinball

Williams Pinball augments and recreates on your iPhone a range of tables. You may choose a starter table and so choose wisely.  Daily partake the challenges and boost your win parts, XP, and try unlocking other tables.

The unlocked tables are meant for playing offline. They have animated components and playing a simulated pinball is not easy. Pinball playing is not easy on the iPhone, but if you show any progress, immediately it is zipped via iCloud across your devices.

Unicycle Giraffe

This is a fun-loving and balancing iPhone game of a giraffe and a unicycle. A giraffe tries to ride a unicycle. It is comical as the giraffe wobbles right and left. Eventually, it crashes to the floor tangling its neck and legs.

Unicycle Giraffe offers the thrill of being seated and enjoying a few extra seconds. This is a precious time spent by trying to rescue you from overbalancing and the extra risk is in the way of bombs and coins that arrive on tapping on the screen.

While EA, Microsoft, and Ubisoft all had great press conferences. One that really does deserve special attention is the Square-Enix one. Many wondered just what they would show. The big rumor heading into the event was that they were finally going to show off their game based on Marvel’s Avengers!

This is a game that was teased what felt like years ago! No new information was ever given about it. This did cause some people to think that the Square- Enix Avengers game had been quietly put back. Meaning that it would no longer be made for the PS4 and Xbox One and was instead being worked on with the next generation of video game consoles in mind.

Well E3 2019 showed that was not the case at all! Marvel’s Avengers for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and even the Google Stadia! Is coming out next year. The 15^th of May 2020 was the date given. It showcased five heroes that you could play as. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, and Black Widow. It also teased more characters to come with Ant-Man!

One thing that has been pretty cool about this years, E3 is that games companies seem to be realizing that gamers are sick of getting asked to pay a buck here or five bucks there for more content. The Square- Enix Avengers game promised that all new characters and locations will be free! Of course, there is bound to be some skins that you can pay for, but getting actually characters is really awesome.

The game looks to be a lot of fun and it is a game that you can play on your own or with some of your buddies online. The Spider-Man game that was released last year was a huge hit and showed how a Marvel game should be done, so there are some high expectations for this Square-Enix Avengers game.

While this is coming to the current generation of game consoles. The Square-Enix E3 2019 press conference did make a point to mention that PS4 owners can play the game early if they pre-order so that is pretty cool. Also, Square-Enix is known for making special edition consoles for their big games so you have to wonder if we will see some kind of Avengers themed PlayStation 4 console! They made a really cool one for Kingdom Hearts so it would be very interesting to see what they could do with The Avengers.

The team mechanic of this game is something very clever from Sega and Sumo Digital. The player from your team who is leading the pack will cause a slipstream. If you drive in this you can use it to give you a boost of speed. It is a super handy feature and one that is as essential as power sliding!

Mod Pods To The Max

Like many other modern racing games, Team Sonic Racing has customizable cars. This happens in the form of Mod Pods. Mod Pods are random balls that give you cool stuff. Get as many of these as you can and be sure to check and see what combinations improve a car best. Sometimes using the wrong combination can actually make a car worse!

Team Work!

As well as the slipstream being a big factor of the team aspect of the game. You can also share items that you pick up. If you are ahead of your two teammates, you should always be sharing your items with them.

Master Drifting

Just like in Sonic Racing Transformer and even the first game, drifting is something that you simply must master in order to get through the game. Team Sonic Racing actually has some great drifting, but it feels different than the drifting in Mario Kart. It can take a while to get it down just right.

Drifting will give you a little speed boost each time you come out of one so be sure to drift as much as you can.

Play With Friends

There was no way Sega was ever going to release a racing game without multiplayer. While playing against your friends is a lot of fun. If you want to earn as many Mod Pods as you can as quickly as possible One way that you can do this is by actually making sure you all play on the same team.

This was you can work together and get the most Mod Pods possible. Also, it is actually a whole lot of fun to work together in this game.

Speed Boost At The Start Of A Race

Team Sonic Racing can give you a helping hand at the start of a race, as long as you know what you are doing! When the race start timer is counting down. Hit the accelerator on each number. If you time your presses right, you will get a speed boost at the start of the race.

This is much harder to do than the speed boost at the start of Mario Kart so do not be put off if it takes you a while to get the timing down just right.

One of the clever things that Activision do with the Call of Duty series is that they have three development teams working on the game. Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and Sledgehammer Games are the three studios. Having three studios means that we get a new COD game each year, but the teams have multiple years to work on it.

We know that Call of Duty 2019 is being headed up by Infinity Ward and all signs are pointing to it being Modern Warfare 4. Call of Duty 2020, on the other hand, has just come off the rails. Originally, Call of Duty 2020 was being created by not just Sledgehammer Games, but also Raven who have a hand in the series as well.

The rumor going around is that Call of Duty 2020 was going to be set during the Cold War which sounds awesome. Having a Call of Duty game set during this period (along with a chunk of it happening in Vietnam) has been something many fans of the series have wanted for a very long time. Thankfully the story is that Sledgehammer Games and Raven are working with Treyarch so that the campaign they have been working on can be part of Call of Duty Black Ops 5. Black Ops IIII did not have a campaign, something that many fans were not cool with!

Now though, Call of Duty 2020 has been taken away from Sledgehammer Games and Raven and instead put into the hands of Treyarch and they are supposedly supporting Treyarch with, Call of Duty Black Ops 5. Last years Black Ops IIII was awesome and introduced the Battle Royale genre to COD. So it goes without saying that improving on that game is something they could do in the short development time they have been given.

Word going around is that the game was not progressing as it should and as a result, Activision made the decision now to do this. Sledgehammer Games last entry in the Call of Duty series was the phenomenal Call of Duty WWII. A game many consider to be one of the best in the history of the franchise. So, it goes without saying that many COD fans were very excited to see what Sledgehammer Games would do with the franchise next.

This is one of the biggest shake-ups that the Call of Duty franchise has ever seen since the game become an annual juggernaut. It is going to be very interesting to see what comes of this. Also, it is pretty interesting in that, more eyes are on Call of Duty 2020 right now than they are the COD game we are getting later this year!

Rage 2 does not require you to have played Rage 1 at all to get any enjoyment from it. There are nods here and there that if you played the first game you will think is cool, but for the most part, you do not miss out on anything by coming into this blind.

The story of Rage 2 is that you play as a Ranger, you are basically a super-powered cop, the last of your kind. You are determined to bring peace (well what classes as peace in this post-apocalyptic wasteland) and put a stop to this mutant/cyborg race of “elite” beings called the Authority who see themselves as the ultimate rulers and mankind’s next evolution.

I actually thought that the story in Rage 2 was kind of cool, but like all the other Rage 2 reviews have said. Rage 2 is all about the gameplay! This game is massive and when you look at your map, it is jam-packed with beacons that are things you can do! There is so much to do it can be hard to know where to start.

Getting through the story will take you around 8 to 10 hours, but there is so much more than that. You have side missions you can do, stuff you can go and find and lots of weapons to track down and unlock. Actually, the way the game makes you get new weapons requires quite a bit of work and I really liked that.

Rage 2 also has a lot of vehicles for you to make use of. These can lead to races and other vehicle-based missions. The handling of these is great and I love how there is a lot of variety to the vehicles that are scattered around this very diverse wasteland.

The game design of Rage 2 is very clever. You are always moving forward and it always feels like you are progressing in some way. This can be through the actual story, leveling up in one of the three skill tree type systems and locating new areas on the map. Rage 2 always feels like it has something new for you to do and that keeps the game fun and interesting even after you have put a lot of hours into it.

The actual shooter mechanics are some of the best I have encountered in quite some time. The different locations in the game have clearly been made with gunplay in mind. It is like you are in a giant playground and gunfights are what the playground was created for. Even the bosses are fun, challenging and require some strategy to take them down.

While many people were looking forward to Rage 2. I think it is safe to say that not many had any idea that it was going to be as much fun as it is. If you like games that are just dumb, loud and over the top fun, you really will struggle to top this game. Rage 2 for me is one of the best games of 2019!

What Exactly Is The Xbox One S All Digital Edition?

There has been some confusion as to what exactly this latest (and most probably last) version of the Xbox One actually is. I cannot tell you that it does everything that a regular Xbox One S can do because that is not true. The thought behind this console is that it is made for gamers who do not want any physical games at all for their system.

Apart from the ability to play physical games via a Blu-Ray disc, the Xbox One S All Digital does what the regular Xbox One S does. It for many is a way for Microsoft to test the waters and see what kind of interest there is in a device like this.

What Is In The Box?

When you purchase the Xbox One S All Digital Edition you, of course, get the brand-new console which has a 1TB hard drive, one of the awesome Xbox One controllers, your HDMI and power cables and you also get a pretty sweet games package as well.

You get download codes for Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft and Sea of Thieves. Add to this you also get one month of Xbox Live Gold thrown in as well. Those are three fantastic games, but they are not exactly the newest and most exciting of games. Still, they are three games that are all actually fun to play.

How Much Does It Cost?

This right here is the real sticking point for this console. Microsoft is charging a very expensive $249.99 for this console. That price point is just insane, especially when you consider you can get a standard Xbox One S, usually with a game (Minecraft, Battlefield, Forza and so on are most common free games) for close to $200 bucks!

Microsoft has gotten the retail price for the Xbox One S All Digital Edition completely wrong. It is actually missing features of the basic model which can be found far cheaper. Had they released this at closer to 200 bucks and thrown in say three months’ worth of Xbox Game Pass and a 2TB hard drive I think they very well might have convinced more people to give it a chance.

What Else Can It Do Apart From Play Games?

You have a lot of social features tied into an Xbox One. These are great for people who love to game with each other. If you ask me Xbox Live is still the best online games service around and you do get an extra month free with this console so that is pretty cool.

Xbox One S is also good if you like to stream games. This is something that Microsoft was pushing in a big way before the original Xbox One console launched. It is not a feature that many people talk about, but it is actually something that the Xbox One does very well.

One thing that I cannot believe they are bragging about is 4K content. It is great that the Xbox One S All Digital can steam from places like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu in glorious 4K. However, when the original Xbox One S launched the fact it could play 4K Blu-Ray discs was seen as a huge coup and as this model is lacking that drive… you cannot do it!

When you really think about the Xbox One S All Digital Edition as a media player that for me is when the price again seems way too high. Paying 200 bucks for a standard Xbox One S and getting the ability to play 4K Blu-Rays is great, a top of the line 4K Blu-Ray player is going to cost around that on its own.

What About The Games?

Of course, all of the Xbox One S games library is compatible with this console. How people can transfer their disc-based games onto this is yet to be seen, but there is talk of a way to do this.

The Xbox One S is great in the way that it is backwards compatible. As well as the large library of Xbox One games. Microsoft is working hard to make as many Xbox 360 and also original Xbox games playable on the Xbox One S as possible. This is very easy to do if you have the regular version of the console as all you do is put the disc in and then the game will be downloaded from the store. On the Xbox One S All Digital though as of right now you have to actually buy the game from the store.

Used games are another issue. Remember when Xbox One launched and Microsoft tried to make it hard to play used games? Well with this you cannot buy a used game and play it on this console. With how cheap some Xbox One games are when they are used, I see this as a huge stumbling block for some people, especially parents.

That Fantastic Controller

While it may be a personal preference, I must say that the Xbox One controller is one of the best video game controllers I have ever used. You get the smart white version with this console and it is a joy to use for long gaming sessions. I do feel that for close to 250 bucks they could have thrown in a plug and charge kit. The Xbox One controller does use AA batteries (which do last a long time) and that is the only issue I have with the controller.

Ports And Storage

There are three USB 3.0 ports on the Xbox One S. There is one located right on the front which is really handy if you plan on using a wired controller. There is also two on the back of the console. I like how the Xbox One S hides USB ports on the back of the console, this is something the PS4 at launch did not do!

On the back of the console, you also have your HDMI out port, but there is also an HDMI in as well. This is a really cool feature and it allows you to plug in a cable box, DVD player or even a PS4 into your Xbox One. This can then free up an HDMI port on your TV.

Inside the Xbox One S All Digital is a 1TB hard drive. For a console that is all about digital games, this is far too small in my opinion. Some games on the Xbox One such as Halo, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy XV, Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA V can take up the better part of 100 GB each! Now granted not all games take up that much space. However, that 1TB will fill up far quicker than you would think. 2TB should have been what they put in here, especially at this price point.

The Design Of The Console

The Xbox One S All Digital Edition is a really cool and sleek looking video game console. It is a very nice size as it does not take up too much space and it is much quieter than its rival the PlayStation 4. The outside of the console looks very appealing and I am interested to see if they decide to release different colors of it, something I am surprised they did not do at launch.

The outside of the console looks cool, but the inside is very strange. Inside the Xbox One S are still parts of the disc drive and the eject button! It is almost like Microsoft just cracked open an original Xbox One S and then put this new casing over the top of it. Now granted in the grand scheme of things this does not matter at all, I just find it very odd.

I get that they did this to cut down costs as it made more sense to do this than remake the whole console. However, as an argument to that, you have to ask. If they did that to save money, why does this thing cost $249.99?

Who Is This For?

That right there is the million-dollar question! I in no way see a parent purchasing this for a child as their first Xbox One S. To me the people that this is aimed at are already seasoned gamers who are not just willing but have a desire for this all digital future. There is no way a person who does not have an Xbox One already would spend more on this and get less than getting a standard Xbox One S and getting that 4K Blu-Ray player as well as the ability to play disc-based games.

So Is The Xbox One S All Digital Worth It?

I have to start by saying that I love the Xbox One S and I also love the Xbox One X. Xbox One had a rough start, but it has turned out to be a really awesome console. However, the Xbox One S All Digital Edition is not something that I see as being worth $249.99 as of right now.

Had the console came out and been $199.99 and came with a three months of Game Pass voucher, even instead of those three games. I feel that Microsoft could have gotten many people who do not yet have an Xbox One interested in this product. As of right now, I would say unless you are a diehard Xbox collector, I would pass on this until it inevitably gets a price reduction.

Embrace The 360

Xbox has done a great job in bringing backward compatibility to the Xbox One. Not all Xbox 360 games are currently compatible, but a ton is. For example, the Xbox One is by far the best way to experience games like the original Red Dead Redemption and Dead Space.

4K Gaming & Movies

Ok so this only applies to the Xbox One X and the Xbox One S. However, these are things that do make the Xbox One extra awesome. If you have an Xbox One X some games such as the tremendous Gears of War 4 have been enhanced to fully support 4K and HDR. Also, the Xbox One S (and the X) can actually play 4K Blu-Rays.

Game Pass Is One Of The Best Deals In Gaming

The Xbox One Game Pass is tremendous value for money. This service gives you access to tons of Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox games. The line up is great, always being expanded and all first-party Xbox games will be available the day of release on Xbox One Game Pass. This alone makes it worth the price of admission.

Game For Free!

There are plenty of games that offer a free to play service. Fortnite and Apex Legends being the most obvious answer. However, as well as these free to play games, there are a ton of free demos that you can download on Xbox One. These are a great way to get a little gaming fix or even find out if a game you are interested in is something you want to spend money on.

Games With Gold

Now granted the quality of your free games that you get with Games With Gold differs on a month to month basis. I say that free games are free games! I always, always download the free games. Ok so I might not “download” them, but I will certainly add them to my account. Hey, I do not know what I might feel like playing six months down the line and if you at least do this. You will always have access to those free games as long as you are an Xbox Live Gold member.

More Fun With Friends

With this, I am not just talking about online multiplayer. Xbox One has some great tools that allow you to socialize with friends and other like-minded gamers. You, of course, have your profile that you can customize. Xbox One also allows you to record and edit videos, chat with friends, follow people like celebrities and many more fun social media style features.

Embrace The Exclusive Games!

One of the running gags this console generation has been that the Xbox One has no exclusive games. To be fair it is certainly behind the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch when it comes to exclusive games. However, the Xbox One has some great first party titles that are not on PlayStation. Gears of War, Halo, Forza, Cuphead, Sea of Thieves and Sunset Overdrive are all amazing games and they are crown jewels in any Xbox One collection.

To start with the price of the PlayStation VR is all over the place. Sony seems to put this on offer quite often. On Amazon, you can get some great bundles such as the one that comes with Moss and Astro Bot, two of the best games for PlayStation VR.

There is also the PlayStation VR Mega Pack which for me if you can find it is the best value you can get. You get the PlayStation VR, the camera and five games. Doom VFR, Skyrim VR, Wipeout, Astro Bot, and PlayStation Worlds all of these are amazing PSVR experiences and are games I would recommend any PlayStation VR owner have so getting them at the same time as you buy the VR is a great idea.

I think that the asking price of the PlayStation VR is quite fair. The build quality of the unit is actually very solid and I have used it for a few hours at a time and never found it uncomfortable. It does make your PS4 setup a mess of cables, but I do not think it is as bad as people make out, especially if you are smart with your organization.

The PlayStation VR has many, many great games and experiences. Those who say that there are no good games for the PSVR simply do not know what they are talking about. The PlayStation VR library is pretty stacked and there are plenty of cool things that you can get for free as well.

Two of the most impressive VR experiences that I have had did not require me to spend any extra money. One was the Rouge One Star Wars mission that was a free update for Star Wars Battlefront. The other was Resident Evil VII. This game actually lets you experience the whole thing in VR and it is one of the best experiences you can get on the PlayStation VR.

2019 has some big games for the PlayStation VR. Iron Man, Jupiter & Mars, Everybody’s Golf, Blood & Truth and Vacation Simulator are some of the highlights that are on the way. The PlayStation 5 is going to be compatible with the PlayStation VR so it makes sense that Sony is pushing the PSVR so hard in 2019 as if you invest in that for your PS4, you will be more likely to buy a PlayStation 5 so you can use the PSVR which you already invested in.

While I think the PlayStation VR is great value for money. I do have to admit that PlayStation Move Controllers are essential. Some games flat out require these and others are made more immersive. The problem is these are quite hard to come by these days and buying pre-owned ones is the only way to get a good deal.

I think if you are a PlayStation 4 owner and you have not yet jumped into the world of PSVR, 2019 is the perfect time to do so. It has a ton of great games and experiences and the price for the actual unit is more than fair. Plus, Sony clearly has big plans for VR going forward so you will be on the ground floor of something that is going to be a big deal on the PlayStation 5.
